I understand the frustration with this holiday, all the added noise to the already polluted noises we are subjected to. I try the white noise thing, like running fans and having my tv on or listening to music like 24/7 almost because of this. I live in the unincorporated are of Houston where it seems anything goes. When I first moved out here in the mid 70's all was pretty quite. I know someone will say "well times have changed", yes, it feels for the worse. People park their vehicles in the driveways and pour out that loud rumbling and vibrating sounds very late at night. They feel it is their right to make the noise so loud that it can be heard through closed doors and windows and above a loud TV. You can't ask anyone to be considerate of others today. I am sure the law enforcement is overworked and shorthanded today because if you call and complain no one shows. I for one will be glad when it is over but the people around here will still be popping and making all kind of ugly noise, they just do not stop. The poor animals are terrified and the folks that have bad nerves are also upset. Laws should be out there for the noise pollution and enforced.
I like them too, but not until 4am, and for goodness sake, they could at least clean up the mess in the street.

Geez. I got it wrong. No drought. Happy? I thought AI fed me that, but it could be my old eyes. I do stand by my general sentiment.
