sweetie : I've been to Vegas, and a mega casino in Asia....have never gambled at either...I just don't see the appeal. I have a friend who was addicted at one point...that looks pretty awful. I think of it like smoking, best not to start. ; )

Joe : I have friends that gamble, a little and some that gamble too much and some not at all lol. As long as you know that you can only lose what you can afford to lose you're good. I don't find as much satisfaction in it as my DH used to, but I still enjoy going with the girls and going to the spa and doing a little gambling.
sweetie : The Picket House. We have eaten there so many times especially in my childhood. They had little tiles out front that all the travelers signed when they stopped by. It was finally falling apart and we have both sides of my families tiles from Europe. My parents are European and came to Woodville where we were born. What a culture shock. Big city to tiny town right out of the movie The Help.

sweetie : I never thought of you as a gambler. A few years ago we had onboard cash on a cruise ship that we thought would not be refunded to our credit card so I went into the casino to play slots. I was so bored I told butler I was done after $10 of playing and I was not going to play anymore and I would just forfeit the $90 that was left. So we left. Turns out they did refund the money 😂. So it is safe to say I don't think it is fun to gamble. On the ship there are tons of gamblers. They give out free cabins if you put enough money through the casino. There are people who have huge spread sheets on how to get free cruises. I don't know anything except I am not doing that.
Donnawisdom : we used to get free trips from MGM. And we get free trips from Harrahs for cruises. My husband never wanted to cruise he had been in the Navy. Didn't want to get back on the water lol. And I couldn't go without him because he's the one that got the trip so we never got to use them.

sweetie : I will and I might just take him so I can scope it out. I don't win but also gamble a lot of money either. I have a friend who goes to Louisiana to gamble and she wins big every time. Been with her to Vegas and LA many times and seen her hauls. I just need to hand her my money to multiply.
Found info today: the new casino will be open with just 30 machines, this summer, AS they build the new hotel'/gambling complex. It will be located in Leggett, TX, just outside of Livingston. Will take them about a year or so, to complete the entire project, but they want to begin to beckon people to the area, with the 'casino-ette' they will open soon
LittleTexas : The elder at the casino yesterday was telling me it's going to be huge, but the way he talked was that it would open in August and he didn't say that it was just going to be a little part of the casino. The way he was telling me was that it was going to be so huge. I guess he left out the part when it opens. It'll just be the small area. 30 machines is not worth going to.
sweetie : not for me, either, but I think they will have exhibits/pics of the new property, and just want to start a buzz about the upcoming resort, asap. That's not a foreign concept in new resorts, but could not find a full opening date of the hotel, etc. I'm sure they'll make a big splash advertising, when it Is done.
sweetie : Indian Reservation Casinos are not regulated like regular casinos for payout percentages, but they are fun if you don't bet the farm.
