I never thought of you as a gambler. A few years ago we had onboard cash on a cruise ship that we thought would not be refunded to our credit card so I went into the casino to play slots. I was so bored I told butler I was done after $10 of playing and I was not going to play anymore and I would just forfeit the $90 that was left. So we left. Turns out they did refund the money 😂. So it is safe to say I don't think it is fun to gamble. On the ship there are tons of gamblers. They give out free cabins if you put enough money through the casino. There are people who have huge spread sheets on how to get free cruises. I don't know anything except I am not doing that.
We always spent the weekend in one of there rental cabins and gamble, go fishing and swimming. Always a great time!!
sweetie and Donnawisdom reacted I've worked in Livingston since 2020. I have several patients who go to Naskila regularly. I have one patient who has won $5-7K several times and a coworker who won $12K. My patient says if you don't go on an event night you won't win a big amount. He said senior Tuesdays (I think it's Tuesday) is a great night to go. But he was adamant that big money will not be won on just a regular day.

#msg5920221sweetie : I live in Livingston but haven't been to the casinos…I'm not a gambler or high roller. But Livingston is booming…new businesses popping up everywhere, and eventually the new Interstate (I-14) is slated to go through Livingston so there's that bit of anticipation. And of course the lake…so beautiful and uncrowded…fabulous fishing, bird watching, hardly any boaters. Pristine.
My dh and I used to go to eat at the country restaurant that was like all you could eat. They would serve fried chicken and chicken and dumplings, green beans, some other sides and cornbread and sometimes they've had the best peach cobbler. I don't know if that place is still open or not.
#msg5920174sweetie: me too! Tired of all of our money going to Louisiana's pockets.
#msg5920209sweetie : Wonder if my dad knows about the new casinos. He went to Livingston yesterday and is not a gambler at all more of the penny slots and came out with $600. A few years back, he went to Louisiana on the bus to gamble and I got a call that he missed the bus coming back. I thought it was kind of funny that he had to call me to bail him out.

No liquor service. Would open up a whole new can of worms with the state & licensing.
#msg5920061I went with family member today to Naskilla Casino in Livingston. It was packed. It was hard to find a machine. But I was talking to an Indian elder there and he told me that they're just about finished with the new casino in Lufkin/Livingston. He said it's going to be a big resort with a spa , hotel and tables and slots. He said it will open up in August and I asked him why they don't have a hotel there he said we will be getting one as soon as they're finished with the grand opening of the new one. The problem with that place is you never went a big pot. We won a couple hundred dollars each today. We felt lucky because usually I don't win there.
The Picket House. We have eaten there so many times especially in my childhood. They had little tiles out front that all the travelers signed when they stopped by. It was finally falling apart and we have both sides of my families tiles from Europe. My parents are European and came to Woodville where we were born. What a culture shock. Big city to tiny town right out of the movie The Help.
