Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around? 
At Schaefer Garage Doors, we are a full-service, 24/7 garage door repair and installation company serving both residential and commercial customers. Since our founding, we’ve focused on providing dependable, around-the-clock service to ensure our customers always have access to safe and functional garage doors when they need it most.
 
How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
The business was built on a strong foundation of discipline and hard work. After retiring from the U.S. Army, I got my start in the industry working alongside a fellow champion bodybuilder. That experience gave me the hands-on knowledge and confidence to launch my own company, built around doing things the right way—honestly and professionally.

Tell us a few things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
One of the things I’m most proud of is the trust we’ve earned from our customers. We operate with integrity in everything we do, and every technician on our team has passed a background check. When we come to your home or business, you can feel confident knowing you’re working with people who prioritize your safety and respect your property. That commitment to honesty and reliability is what truly sets us apart from the competition.

What is your favorite part of running this business?
Running this business is deeply personal to me. It carries my name, and I take that seriously. I’ve put my heart into building something that reflects my values, and I take pride in every job we complete. There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing our work helps keep families safe and businesses running smoothly.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
We proudly serve customers throughout the north Houston area, including Kingwood, Tavola, Humble, and The Woodlands. Whether it’s a homeowner needing a quick repair or a business requiring a full installation, we’re equipped to handle jobs of all sizes with the same level of care and professionalism.

Can you tell us something about yourself as the business owner? What is your background?
As the owner, my background has shaped the way I run this company. I’m a retired U.S. Army paratrooper, a graduate of Texas A&M University, and a former men’s physique bodybuilding champion. I’ve always valued discipline, hard work, and staying active — principles that carry over into how we operate every day. 

Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?
We also believe in giving back to the community. In addition to offering monthly promotions, we work with charitable organizations to assist elderly individuals on a case-by-case basis. Supporting our community is an important part of who we are.
 
Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
To better serve our customers, we offer service contracts and warranties, and we’ll soon be introducing financing options for select services. Our goal is to make high-quality garage door service as accessible and stress-free as possible.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
Looking ahead, we plan to continue growing by reaching more customers and expanding our presence, while staying true to our core values. We believe in providing superior service, treating people fairly, and building long-term relationships based on trust. As we grow, those principles will remain at the center of everything we do.
