I am thinking about moving a bit more north of Houston. I liked Huntsville when I was there.
Look, after COVID, the new freeway speedlimit is 15 over. Less than that, the cops not pulling you over. City streets, if you want to drive the speedlimit, go for it. IN THE RIGHT LANE. Under the speedlimit? Fine. IN THE RIGHT LANE! Be courteous, please. Now neighborhoods are different. Get off my ****! I'm doing the speedlimit or under in the neighborhood! And you can KMA. We can stop and have a conversation (civil on my part) if you want!

#msg5930988CelticStorm : Neighborhood speed limits are sometimes really messed up…I know of at least one looping road in a quiet neighborhood with lots of kids, and many visual obstructions, that has a 30 mph speed limit…it really should be more like 15mph or 20 mph max…if I were to go 30 mph down that road, I'd be slaughtering kids left and right…
I agree. I live in the back of a neighborhood and when leaving, 20 or slower until I get to the wide open main artery to get in and out of the neighborhood. No street facing houses, no cars parked on the side etc etc. There, I will go 30mph.
I know they would be really unpopular, but speed trap cameras actually work, and they don't put cops' lives in danger during a traffic stop. Personally, I hate them, but they sure would make me slow down...
#msg5930151Would a 39.5 Speed Limit sign work on KW Drive? At least one place in the US is trying out a new eye-catching speed limit sign to get drivers to pay attention. "39.3 mph" vs say...40 mph. What do you think about a similar strategy on Kingwood Drive? Would this improve traffic safety?
I don't think anyone mentioned this before, but there is a reason they call speed bumps what they do. They work! But would you like miles and miles of speed bumps? 😵💫
Oh, I am all for supporting the blue, just understanding they don't have enough money to support a larger force. 😢
