Well today I stopped a kid on a larger motorized bike riding on

Raindrop26 : Childish? Mmmmk. You have only been here a short time so perhaps you are not familiar with some options. You can place them on "ignore" which has some childish components IMO or, just scroll on past what you do not care for.
Well today I stopped a kid on a larger motorized bike riding on my home street. I started out by asking him if he noticed the stop sign at the end of the street. He said "yes but no cars were coming." That's all I needed to give him a little talking to lesson. It just so happened he was on the phone with his Mom. His phone was in a holder on his handle bar. She heard what I was saying to the kid and was very appreciative of me stopping him and giving him a good talking to. He was aware of some of the accidents kids have had on these types of bikes. He was very courteous & promised me he would start wearing a helmet, slow down & obey the same laws a car or motorcycle has. Maybe because his Mom was listening. However, I saw him a couple of times later. He was on his best behavior adhering to laws and what we discussed. He doesn't know which house I live in exactly. But I told him I'll be watching. LOL.

NeenaC0629 : Hmmmm I just posted of seeing a little boy yesterday on a much bigger e-bike…….the wheels were huge and his legs could hardly touch the pedals …..now I'm thinking parents of these clueless littles are thinking bigger is safer……SMH

Ruger5 : This whole thing is soooo out of control. Accidents are happening more and more. 1 fatality I think in Katy.
Jeepinbear : I'm encouraged parents are paying attention because parents are the reason for the whole fiasco of allowing littles to 'drive' high powered e-bike's on busy roadways in the first place. I had so hoped schools would outlaw them from campus during school hours. The few who follow their littles to school won't make a dent in solving this mess. It will take more e-bike deaths before steps are taken to do the right thing. This should be a no brainer.

Ruger5 : I'm just glad that the majority of folks on this thread are in agreement of how dangerous it is. Every time I get in my car to go somewhere, I see a child on one. It further distsresses me to see BOTH ear buds in too! You must be aware of your surroundings. I get wanting to listen to your music...use just 1 bud AND.....your helmet.
Cbear : Oh, and on cell steering with one hand! And sharing bikes or stand up scooter with passenger…… makes me twitch.

Raindrop26 : I wasn't harsh with the kid. Maybe you didn't read the kids mom was on his phone and thanked me PROFUSELY for talking to him about safety. I felt I was in "my lane". His mom heard me tell him if I see his butt injured sprawled on my street, I was going to whip his butt.
