#msg6011004Remember before cell phones when you called a relative or friend and you actually talked to a live body ?

@billcherie2 :
But I also remember having to first having to go through a parent before getting to speak to a friend.

I know my dad wanted to screen the boys that would call and would mess with them. I know our sons are glad they didn't have to do it girls parents

I also do not miss not knowing if my kids or husband are ok if they are not at home. I'm a worrier.

#msg6011200Cbear : I understand! If your thermostat is like mine you will be able to control it from anywhere. When I am away from home for the day I can turn it up and then turn it back down before I get home. I think it saves me on my electric bill. There is no reason to have the house at 70 degrees if no one is home.

@TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Eeeek! 70? At night, I set mine to 76 (upstairs thermostat as you know) and downstairs is 72. I sleep with my fan on level 6 with a tower fan on me too at level 3.

@Cbear : That would be too hot for me. The t-stat is upstairs. I need to check to find out what the temp is downstairs. It has to be lower then upstairs.

@TEXASGIRLMAMMA : My T stat is upstairs and usually downstairs is 4 degree's cooler. I do have an open concept so maybe that makes a difference. IDK.

There are a lot of old things I miss, but those old thermostats are definitely not one of them!

@Cbear : It could make a difference. I am going to have to put a thermostat downstairs to check it.

We just had that happen to us! Apparently there's a switch on your system probably in the attic that was causing ours to act up. It cost me 600 and some odd dollars to have that fixed by Abacus. don't call them truly disappointed that they charged us so much to change out to a simple meter and flip a switch. Beware before you have people work on it and charge you a ridiculous amount. I'll never use Abacus again but in 100 degree weather had no choice.
