Yesterday's power outage in the Tree Lane/Woodland Hills Drive area

My power finally came back on at 6:50 this morning. It went out at 5something last night. That was a long time. At least it was night time and my house did not get hot. Does anyone know what the problem was?

Joe : Yeah, but, at least my house did not get hot. But, for some reason I did not sleep well. Maybe I am used to hearing the AC go off and on or it could be the outdoor light that makes a little humming noise. I don't like total darkness in my house.

The outage included both Bear Branch and North Woodland Hills villages.

When I got my generator I never dreamed it would be used as much as it has been used. Who knew our power would be so unreliable as it has been. Just all the food that has to be thrown out is a bit of money.

Wow, sorry you had to go all night without power! Last I read, they had exceeded the time promised, but that is Way Too long! I have a battery operated fan I got on Amazon for nights like that. Hope the power stays on!

Invest in a home generator if you can afford it. Power goes out more in the Houston area than anywhere I've been.

LittleTexas : So far, the power is still on here at my house. Amazingly, the temperature was not too hot in my house during the night. They must have had quite a mess to fix and I hope it doesn't happen ever again.

That is an incredibly long time, especially as there were no storms. Generators are no longer a luxury, they have become a necessity.

That sounds like the most likely cause especially since it was out for so long! Thank you for the tips!

Tree fell on a line near Bear Branch pool. Apparently it took a few crews to get the line released.

Kittle : Yes, They are a necessity in our area. We have 2 generators but they are not whole house gens. So, getting them out for a short time isn't happening here. I think it's time to bite the bullet and get one installed.
