Tres Leches Cake Suggestions First time I had it was at a Graduation Party earlier this year. Probably one of the best desserts I have eaten. Going to a Housewarming party in a couple of weeks and thought I would bring one. Does anyone know of a good bakery that sells them? I want the real thing. TIA

Cbear : There's isn't horrible, I agree. Their flan is fine too. But after having so many relatives make amazing tres leches and flan, probably anything would suffer in comparison. So if I can eat HEB's flan and tres leches, they must be at least better than normal!

Cbear : You are not wrong, but Mi Tienda, which is a subsidiary of HEB on Little York, actually has better Tres Leches than any normal HEB. It must be the workers or maybe a slightly different recipe because it is the best I have had and that includes some of the Hispanic bakeries down near there.
There is a Hispanic bakery not too far from Beltway 8 south on 59 I think it starts with an A. Anyone familiar with that bakery?

UptownGirl : We went to the Cakery grand opening yesterday. It was yummy!! They have Tres Leches cake. Go get a sample! You may want to just bring an assortment of their cakes to the housewarming!
