Wesco Doughnuts Went this past weekend, WLHP and Rustic Dr. by the police office, and now there is a sign next to the register that tells the customer there will be a 3.99%, I believe that was the number, charge for anyone using a debit/credit charge for ANY amount. Who here pay with cash any more? This is also the place that during the 3 day outage last winter raised their prices on everything because they were on of the few place that had electric. Very shady people. Done going there.

I actually like HEB donuts. Just have to remind myself not to get one every time I go in.
I use cash most of the time. I only use the CC if I stop for groceries and need to cover the extra I didn't have enough cash for.

Texas has laws that prevent surcharges in debit card use. They can be fined 500 dollars per transaction for violation.
Have heard about them and their donuts aren't that good either. A friend's grandson goes to Creekwood Middle and all his buddies want donuts there, Westco, and he always went to KW meat market for breakfast tacos. Now he has all his friends eating breakfast tacos instead of donuts.
That is ridiculous! Even Square doesn't charge providers that much. They aren't supposed to be charging more than it costs them.
That is just one of the reasons that I don't pass this fee onto clients. My understanding is that even if a debit card is run as credit, you can't change a fee. Even with credit, you can't charge customers more than your paying in fees to your provider. My clients appreciate this and many offer to pay with Zelle to save me the money.
I DO like their donuts and i do pay cash for things that cost a couple bucks like this. Unless you are buying for an entire soccer team or something, then possibly a card or if you know this, just bring cash. I agree with you that im tired of this thing but its going on everywhere! Even paying for property taxes is charging a fee. Ugh so annoying!

I think it went up 50 cent from the following day on any size coffee. Good way to lose customers.
