RacerX : It's a for profit organization that loves profit. My mom was there several times and it was not the best. We actually moved her downtown one time to save her life. I'm an RN and I worked for a HCA hospital many years ago . They work their nurses hard and I remember all employees had to take an ethics class because of the thievery of corporate executives at the top.

AVOID Kingwood HCA Worst Hospital have ever experienced. Wife had couple procedures there 6 MONTHS ago and although despite planning and discussing with both facility and insurance we we told had to pay a portion at first appt. Should have known something was off because she charged me 3 different amounts before determining what they were actually charge. Then came 2nd appt week later and again despite being told deductible met and we would not have any more patient responsibility we were charged again. Then we get a notification from insurance that we were owed back from hospital almost 2k that should not have been charged. After going in circles with different people and their billing the hospital admitted error 4 months ago. Here we are 6 month later. Hours on the phone being transferred and continued empty promises of refunding us. They are either crooks or brainless or both. Mistakes happen but 6 months to resolve is inexcusable. AVOID Kingwood HCA hospital and and services they provide!

Rapsalot : Wow you got gray boxed for truth telling.. that was the scandal. Rick Scott was at the top when the Medicare and Medicaid fraud happened. That is exactly why we All had to take the ethics class.

brightlights : We argued with them and they said no choice. Is it had been for me I would have told them to leave but it was for my MIL in AL. She went 5 times in 6 weeks! All were just precautions after falls. The first time the ambulance set outside for almost an hour in line before they brought her in.
KingwoodNana : I wrote that you can ask, but practical considerations dictate. If Kingwood's ER is rocking and rolling, to Herman you are schlepped.
