Shootout at Academy, Humble!

A friend was getting gas there and said he heard multiple gunshots. The police and ambulance were there within a few minutes.

Not a surprise considering how much Humble has changed over the last 4 decades. I tell my wife all the time I don't even like to go there if it can be avoided.At least the officer is safe and unharmed and only the suspect has been shot.

The Houston and surrounding areas have turned to hell.

I have not heard any other details. I wonder what led to the shooting ??

He was wanted out of Montgomery County. That's all I know.

We have called that the "Ghetto Kroger" for over 20 years. This is nothing new. This, however, was just random, as that is where they followed this perp, to. Can happen anywhere.

The perp has died from his injuries in this incident. He was a theft suspect from Montgomery County, and crossed into Humble. Humble PD was alerted by law enforcement trailing him,of his entering Humble. The perp was then followed into the Academy Store lot, and had no connection to those stores, but was cornered there. Not sure who fired first, but the officers have body cams, so those will be reviewed. There were also security cams on that lot, and those are going to be reviewed, as well. I am sure by the 10 pm new, more will be known.
