Katy teen dies in e-bike crash

This just breaks my heart.

That's super sad. This past week I saw two kids wreck on their razer scooters. One of them fell into the road going the to ER in the HEB center. Thankfully it was on the parklot side, and no cars were coming. Another was a girl on the greenbelt along Kingwood drive. Thankfully she didn't fall into the road. I'm glad to see kids taking risks, but it seems that these kids aren't getting proper training on the ebikes, and I think the razor scooters are just dangerous. These kids need licenses for the bikes, required to take a class on road safety.

So devastating. And completely avoidable.

SpaceCat : The problem is, road safety doesn't protect them from lunatic drivers. I almost got ran off the road from a nut texting and driving on the local bridge for one example. Those little speed demons have no business co mingling anywhere near traffic. I had so hoped the schools would have banned them from school property. That would hve certainly helped. Guess it's gonna take more deaths. This should be a no brainer. Ugh

Ruger5 : Yet they all have helicopter parents for everything else

Ruger5 : This is so sad! I pray parents are taking notes and paying attention. They need to stop buying those for their kids. Prayers for the girl and her family.

If they were required to have licenses, then it bypasses the parents, who are not direting their kids. Ruger5 : They still need to learn the rules oof the road and how to navigated stop lights and stop signs. I see them just blow right through them because they don't believe the signs apply to them.

SpaceCat : the state is stupid for handing out licenses to twit year-olds that they allow to ride in clear danger, actually breaking their own current laws….and parents…… stupid for allowing it no matter what the state says

road safety....yup there are so many red light runners and stop runners and then the illegal u turns at norhpark....almost 2 accidents ....lane switches cutting folks off as well...every day is risk taking....

Can we throw golf carts in this conversation? I am so sick of seeing young kids driving these around neighborhoods and main roads. I encountered a golf cart today in the HEB parking lot. They pulled in from Kingwood drive. The kids were probably 13-15 years old, and acting like jerks.
