I listen primarily to prog rock, jazz, hard rock, classic rock (Frank Zappa, Dire Straits, Yes, Toto, Curtis Mayfield, Deep Purple etc) I am a guitarist (was a lead an rhythm im a band from 2018-2021) and also a bassist. I own an electric bass and a fender amplifier and some pedals.
I have a solo project in which i write my own songs and play the acoustic guitar but im tired of it and i would like to go full band and hopefully record something. Im 28 though. If anybody would like to join me, I would be forever grateful

gato : i wish I could play or sing, sounds like fun! maybe go to some open mic nights, and find some others who perform, so y'all can put together a band?

LittleTexas : I do not go out a lot, do you know any bars or any place that hosts open mics? I have heard about Green Oaks in Humble and Nowhere Lounge by Sorters Road but again... almost pushing 30 I feel awkward walking into a bar by myself. I used to to that effortlessly and get booked easily when I used to live in Panama. I miss my gig so so much you have no idea... im actually sobbing right now. Music is so important to me....

HappyDay2016 : Hell yeah! I actually called yesterday and ended up scheduling a trial class 😂 they accept intermediate and advanced players too, so I'm honestly just doing it for the networking. But as a LSC alumna I think I lose nothing by asking if they let me paste some posters here and there. Thank you for the idea!
gato : Try Googling "open mics near me" to find places to play. To get over your feeling awkward, try smaller places first, get to know fellow musicians and get more comfortable. As you build up your reputation locally, you could find solo gigs, as some local restaurants pay for live musicians. There's also a Houston area open mic association on Facebook that advertises each opportunity for playing and networking.

donnatella : Thank you very much, I have a couple of local bars bow in mind. Im actually booked for a show on the Woodlands on November 20th but I have a lot of free time now and wanna get thing moving! Hope to know more people on that show tho

gato : Check for open mike options. I think Megaton Brewery in Kingwood still does. Maybe, go to clubs & check out bulletin boards. Likewise, at Lone Star college in Kingwood. Don't give up, hang in there!👻

gato : Do what you Love, get in there @ sing your heart out! People will love your enthusiasm! The Voice is a TV show which airs Monday & Tuesday. The one constant thing you hear over & over is you just have to get out there & keep performing your craft, you will improve & build a name for yourself.🙏
