Ruger5 :
How about the stupidity of parents allowing their children to operate these machines without supervision! It not always the drivers fault! These bikes are everywhere and the riders pay no attention to stop signs or any other rules of the road. And, they seem to be capable of 35+ mph….without helmets. Parents????

Absolutely the parents are to blame. And should be held accountable. This is a parenting issue. But then again, those same helicopter parents wont let them cross Kingwood Dr by themselves so they pick them up at the front door.

Odyssey96 : It's honestly a fear of mine. I can't imagine the trauma of hurting a child. They pull out of the greenbelts into intersections with barely a glance if that much. There are a few areas with overgrown brush and landscaping that make some of these intersections have blind spots when pulling out in a vehicle and those little bikes and scooters have no chance against a car.

teatime :
We witnessed a near miss the other day that was totally the kids fault. The driver was a little old man that was so cautious you could not believe it. It is the only reason these kids are not dead. They ran out in front of him going at least 30 mph. We are still talking about this in our family. 🤦‍♀️

teatime : I literally twitch when I drive now because you never really do know when they're going to come darting out without looking either direction. this week I saw a girl on a scooter looked to be maybe 10 years old dart full speed ahead across the street (a BUSY street at that) and never looked up from her cell phone that her face was buried in.. this mess had got to be addressed

The other day I saw a 3-4 yr old girl driving her battery Barbie car down the middle of a street in a neighborhood with no parents in sight. Parents are not watching their kids....

#msg6032450Cbear : my question is how many Littles will have to die before people wake up, this should be a no-brainer. you cannot protect them from the twits texting and driving or driving drunk or just not paying attention, so why allow them in harms way? Can't wrap my brain around this kind of widespread stupidity.

Ruger5 : I agree.

We have many kids on high speed electric bikes and scooters in Royal Shores. You have to keep your head on a swivel while driving. Maybe I am jealous that all I had as a kid was a one speed Tuffy bike with a banana seat.

There's a young boy I see almost every morning cruising down the street going to school-- maybe 5th or 6th grade. He goes SO fast and never stops at the 2 stop signs on our street. I pray for him!!
