We're with MH MA, and our letters plainly state that because our current coverage is being terminated, we have the choice of special enrollment into Tradtional Medicare and a supplement, or choosing another MA. Not sure yet what to do, but looking at all options.

It isn't going to hurt to ask, but due to hers being employee specific and private, I am pretty sure they don't have to let her back on.
I had a call with Jayson at SmartMatch. He had look at my options and recommend Unted HealthCare . jayson.vandeneinde@smartmatch.com www.smartmatch.com
Have you considered original Medicare for her? These advantage plans may give you a few bucks for eye glasses and a hearing test and no dentist takes it -but original Medicare is not limited to a network that the insurance plan dictates and controls. You can go anywhere Medicare is accepted. In other words, advantage plans are network based and so are the limitations.

I have and we will see. As I stated earlier in the thread it's one consideration but, it depends on several factors. We will see which checks the most boxes for what she needs and go with it. She is currently in the most stable condition she has been in in over a decade. It's been a rough year for her but, many things were addressed that the treatment she received in the Kingwood areas network just checked off as good enough and let slide or didn't address at all.

I know supplements are more expensive but advantage plans are much more restrictive and are 'for profit'. I would stay away from another advantage plan if I was facing this situation.

How Medigap (Supplement) Rights Work- • Guaranteed-Issue Rights: When your Medicare Advantage plan involuntarily terminates or discontinues service in your area, federal rules give you a guaranteed-issue right to purchase a Medigap policy.
• No Medical Underwriting: During this window, insurance companies cannot deny you a policy, delay coverage, or charge you higher rates based on your health or pre-existing conditions.
• Strict Time Window: You generally have 63 days from the date your Medicare Advantage coverage ends (or sometimes a short window prior to termination) to apply for a Medigap plan under guaranteed issue.
• Plan Options: Under federal guaranteed-issue rules tied to plan termination, you are typically eligible to select standardized plans such as Plan A, Plan B, Plan D, or Plan G . Note: I have plan G and could not be happier. It is very rare to be able to switch from an Advantage plans to supplement (gap plan) without having to meet very strict medical underwriting-in other words - pre-existing conditions can normally disqualify you. If you were ever wishing that you had gone with a supplement or due to your age or current medical conditions your needs have changed this is an excellent opportunity to switch.
