Work or Fun ..

It looks beautiful, but a whole lot of work.

bigla : I hope she is charging the land owner. Beekeepers get $35 per month per hive for maintaining bees on someone's property.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I didn't know that and I'm not sure. I'd call her and ask, but she's on a cruise right now.

Fun now but will eventually become work.

We had horses as a kid when we lived in Midland...definitely agree that they're a ton of work...

bigla : I hope she is having fun! Long ago in Texas land owners let beekeepers put bees on their property and no one charged anything. The beekeeper would give the land owner a few jars of honey when they harvested. Laws in Texas changed in 2012 and bees can now be used as an AG exemption. So, beekeepers now charge land owners to put/maintain bees on their property so they can get an AG exemption. Did you know Honey Bees are considered cattle by the CAD (county appraisal district)?

Chow : How soon are you leaving and do you need any help?

SandyKnee : I need help packing small stuff like putting dishes into boxes, glasses, cups etc

You will need 5 cows and at least 1 Bull. 🤣

Chow : Here are a couple pictures of part of my open acreage - took me about 45 minutes to mow this and as mentioned I mow it about 4 times a year. It's mostly native bahia grass. Close to the house I do mow with an old junky garden tractor frequently May-September.

I would love to do that kind of work then have to sit in one more meeting sharing a fun fact about myself

Totally. Such a waste of time

Depends on your age. Up until about 55 I would consider maintenance and upkeep fun but once I passed this milestone this kind of stuff has become work.
