Anyone used a designer to help with a remodel? Not from Lowes or HD. Someone who came to your house, gave you ideas and did drawings etc to give to a contractor to follow. If you want to share who you used and why you liked them, that would be great. I had a designer in mind but prices have gone way up so wondering if it makes sense to go that route. Looking at a kitchen remodel where I don't think there can be a lot of changes to the layout, but maybe I don't see it?

Interesting idea. I wonder if it will give exact measurements for spaces. For example, exactly how large the pantry should be, space for the refrigerator etc. That's what we are concerned about...a contractor will "eye ball" a space and with no exact measurements to follow, will build out and we'll later find they didn't allow enough space for the refrigerator or something.
Get some information from Kingwood Lonestar College interior design professor

Have pictures of what you like or what direction you want to go. Research on Pinterest til you can't stand it anymore, haha!
Yes, have followed them for many years. However, they seem to be doing just huge renovations now and very high end. We are looking at doing room by room and not looking to put in the highest end items. Same thing happened to us with our favorite builder. He did some great work for us but his company took off (which we are happy for him) and he stopped doing the small jobs...builds million dollar+ homes now.
