Keep those eye doctor appointments A pretty low (statistically) chance of going blind from taking GLP-1's. We should know more relatively soon since > 10% of US adults are taking them now. www.medicalnewstoday .com/articles/review -3-potentially-blind ing-eye-conditi

I hadn't heard about the eyes, but I'm not much interested in GLP-1 for me but do know several people about to start them. I'll pass this on. Thanks.

I saw that on the news the other night. Very scary. I know several people that have taken them or are currently taking them.

I hope that the risks continue to remain low. However, in case anybody knows somebody that becomes blind, from this or anything else, I am totally blind myself and lead a support group here in Kingwood. The Visually Impaired People of South East Texas (VIPSET) has been meeting monthly for 17 years. We meet at 6:30 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Kingwood Methodist Church, Room K103. And if you're wondering about my screen name, JAWS is the name of the screen reader that I use to access my pc. Nobody would ever choose to lose their vision, but if they ever do, getting connected with people who live with this every day is the best way to learn of resources and information. I lost my sight after a head injury suffered in a 1993 car wreck severed both optic nerves. Its nothing I ever planned on, but at age 31, I figured out that I lost my sight, not my life. The key take away I'm trying to emphasize is that there is life after vision loss.

Thank you. My life is truly blessed. I've achieved more as a blind man than I ever dreamed about with 20/20 vision. So much of this journey is all about attitude and finding the confidence and reclaiming your life. Accept the limitations that are real and do not place false limitations on yourself.

I took a Glp-1 years back for 1 week. I was so sick on it I would never do that again. The doctor gave it to me and I just took it and it lasted 1 week. Long long week for me.

Wow. I have noticed many people who have had body transformations, I am thinking glp or similar treatment. You just don't ask and talk about. I thought good for them as they carried a lot of weight for years. It made want to look into it. Not so much anymore. Now with the eye site issues. No way for me. I will stay with carrying a little extra weight.
