I can't figure this one out. Maybe you can. Every time I drive on 99 West, I notice a stretch of road named the "Mayor Bob Lanier Memorial Parkway." The only thing I remember about him was his overzealous desire to annex Kingwood! Does anyone know why that particular portion of that road is named for him?

Ruger5 : I really remember the annexation of Kingwood. I thought my gardening friends were going to have a stroke. We all water our yards a lot. The water bill is huge now days. But I just pay it. Not going to have dead plants and brown grass.

Donnawisdom : Yes, our sprinklers run 2x a week. I'm not looking forward to this month's water bill. We've received ZERO inches of rain at our house so far this August, and I don't see any rain in the forecast for the rest of the month.
donnatella : I totally understand honoring our fallen lawmen and women by naming parts of highways after them. BUT, Mayor Bob Lanier comes nowhere close to that category.
