LittleTexas : Well I personally would not buy an e-bike for anyone. But you can change the speed they are allowed to go. Changing speed from 30 mph to perhaps 15 could be very helpfull.

LittleTexas : I feel bad for the poor person who hit her. It is clearly not their fault but I am sure they are very concerned for her well being. Lots of stress for this poor person that is not necessary. Prayers for the girl and the person who hit her.

I was turning right onto Tree lane from WH and something caught my eye..yep, it was a child on an E bike and they nearly T boned me! It would have been their fault but....I would feel horrible.

Just wait for the lawsuits. The child's parents will be responsible for damage to the vehicle. Next will be the civil matter of emotional trauma to the driver. Dash cams are essential.
Zz98721 : You know, I have been thinking about a dash cam for awhile. Might be time to "pull the trigger". Can they catch all angles? In the situation I described, I would have been T-boned so a camera would need to be facing sideways vs forward.
Donnawisdom : They won't comply with that if they aren't complying with stop signs. It would have to be done by the manufacturers

Cbear : I'm not a pro but believe those options are available. I used cameras that also record the driver. Distracted driver seemed to be biggest excuse we encountered.
Governors can be required on these motorized vehicles. Uhaul used to put them on their rentals. Not many know how to bypass them.
