Restaurants, retail, fitness. Some business are still "proposed". I will update when I get some additonal information.

[ ADMIN: This project has been in the works for years without progress. I don't see any new info that this has changed lately. ]

Cbear :
I'm not sure that I'm happy to hear about this, but I definitely don't like the name of it.

Sounds like a similar setup to Kings Harbour, but maybe a little bigger. I agree about the name…it's sort of plain and blah.

#msg5989207CatalinaD : Why don't you like the name?

Cbear : I'm not sure, it sounds a little too simple and underwhelming for a development that looks like it would be nice, fresh, new, and streamlined. I think it would be great for bringing in new jobs for our community, but it may also bring a lot more traffic, that's mainly what I'm concerned about.

Cbear : I hope it takes them forever to get this done. It seems developers are hell bent to crap up all the woods around Kingwood. Eventually, people will laugh when they see The Livable Forest signs. I personally think businesses should try filling the empty spots around KW before building more centers. I admit, the current retail space is starting to fill up.

Joe : I do remember signing signs along 494 for ..since I moved here I think! That said, do you think that now that it has a "name", this project may move forward?

CatalinaD : I agree about the traffic. Thankfully, 494 has been improved and NP is on it's way.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I agree with filling up the empty spaces. Painted Tree is the latest place to be vacated. I wouldn't mind if SteinMart came back!

TEXASGIRLMAMMA :
I agree. It seems like there are still some empty spaces that could be filled in with new stores or restaurants. It just seems like we have enough new developments all around us, and don't really need more.

CatalinaD :
The weird thing to me is...is that Kingwood, per capita, actually has quite a bit less retail than a lot of other communities of similar size....and even so, we have a lot of empty retail buildings...kind of puzzling to me.
