Muscadine fans out there They are ripe and ready for eating. Lots available around the greenbelts, with many vines reachable without a ladder. Rinse and put in the fridge for a cool, flavorful summer snack!

Yes, there are alot on the ground on the greenbelt. Guessing the birds are picky.
Muscadines make wonderful jelly. Oh the precious childhood memories.

They're a pretty durable plant as well. They're naturally resistant to many pests and fungal diseases common to hot, humid climates that will often ruin standard table grapes.

Ever had wine made from them?
No. I grew up in a non alcoholic family so we had jelly instead of wine.

Are these the fruit all over the greenbelts right now? They look like berries to me. Maybe there is both berries and grapes?

I have seen people picking these for years and always wondered what they are. Maybe I need to get a bucket!

My aunt made wine with them for years. One year, the batch even came out sparkling. She never could reproduce that phenomenon.

Wonderful memories of picking muscadines at the Hilltop Restaurant property in Cleveland and making homemade jelly with them. Such a simple, special memory I'll always cherish

I've seen these, but I've never tried them. I don't know why but I always assumed they were for the birds and/ or other wildlife. Lol. It's never occurred to me to try one!
