How would Kingwood get a decent Dog Park that is really needed? I know folks go to east end But I don't feel it is very safe there.

There used to be a dog park if you went down Russel Palmer, then turned right and went to the very end of the road. There is a building attached on the property that used to be a dog kennel.

I would love to see a dog park here. With all of the dog lovers here it seems crazy that there isn't one. I would love to see one with some shady areas, a water feature and plenty of benches for the parents to sit. If someone added a coffee stand they would make a fortune!

When I was on an HOA board we looked into a dog park that KSA would build but because of the insurance cost it was voted down. There were communities in other areas (not Kingwood) that had been sued and held liable for dog injuries, people injuries and especially children getting bit. So it was a liability they were not willing to take.
CatalinaD + 3 more reacted I remember when the dog park was built and opened. never took our dog there, but did go with a friend and her small dog, a few times, to chat as her dog played. It was nice when it opened, but I remember, later, it was in disrepair and not kept up
#msg5986126beth1128 : There used to be a dog park if you went down Russel Palmer, then turned right and went to the very end of the road. There is a building attached on the property that used to be a dog kennel. I noticed that property is currently for sale...it's about 2 acres. We need a rich benefactor, or the city of Houston, to buy it and restore it as a dog park...it had a ton of land for the pups to play. $455k, here: www.zillow.com/homed etails/619-Lakeville -Dr-Kingwood-TX-7733 9/27804177_zpid

Well I am thinking that is chump change for you. You could buy it and rent space for food trucks and charge admission to the park. That might be an interesting business adventure. Heck you could sit out there and code while your dogs play.
😂😂😂
Of course I am just being silly.
A dog park would be really nice.
The one at Deussen Park is nice but a little drive.
