Smoothwaters : EXACTLY my thoughts... I think they took her back due to the public outrage they were getting. I would be willing to bet it is in her contract not to accept those type of gifts or if she does she has to disclose it.

my guess is that it was a part of her contract. some people do not read every word of a contract, so she may not have been aware of amount limits. I really don't think she was trying to do anything nefarious; just accepted perks, and maybe other employees had done similar, but not to the same level of value, as both events she attended, with the VIP packages/status, Were pricey.
