Drone show cancelled. Someone just announced that they are cance

mm4731 : they owe you

To our Kingwood community,We want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to celebrate the Fourth of July with us. Seeing our community come together is what makes this event so special each year.Like many of you, we were incredibly excited to bring Kingwood its first-ever drone light show. Unfortunately, due to technical issues experienced by Gulf Coast Sky Spectra, the drone show could not be performed. Representatives from Gulf Coast Sky Spectra addressed the crowd during the event and explained that the cancellation was due to their equipment issues and was not the result of anything related to the event organizers or the venue. We appreciate the transparency and honesty from Gulf Coast Sky Spectra keeping safety the number one priority. We understand how disappointing this was for everyone who came specifically to see the show. We share that disappointment. We spent months planning this celebration and were looking forward to providing an unforgettable experience for our community. While the drone show could not take place, we hope everyone was still able to enjoy the live music, food vendors, shopping, family activities, and everything else the festival had to offer. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued support of our events. Thank you to our vendors, sponsors, volunteers, performers, and everyone who helped make the day possible despite this unexpected setback. We remain committed to bringing free quality community events to Kingwood, and we look forward to creating many more great memories together.Thank you,
JG-Events
Tim, Krystal Wertman and family.

Oh no! I feel bad for everyone. It seems like anything g like that should have been prepared for. That's so disappointing for those out there to view it. We are at Galveston and awaiting their big show on the beach. The show last night at the Battleship Texas was fantastic.

...

Damn Kingwood gets screwed again!

teatime :
this is sad, looks like equipment problems. the Valley Ranch festivities are going on now.

LittleTexas : That makes more sense than the magnetic field excuse

GreentreeMom : There are fireworks tomorrow night at Kings Harbor

I blame the class M solar flares

Ole willy Peter won't let you down, only knock you down

If you want to read a pretty good fictional novel about a massive solar flare that hit s the earth, Aurora by David Koepp. It is Science Fiction but based on real science.

StainlessSteelR :
I was wondering if it could have had anything to do with that.

That was quite a long "apology" letter released immediately after the cancellation. Were there problems earlier in the evening, was the letter prepared in advance "just in case", or if this has happened before, was it recycled and quickly edited to fit this instance? The timing just seems incredibly swift. It takes time to draft and edit to make ready for publication.

I'm guessing a few issues:
1) maybe it was just a scam, there never were drones
2) they're in the flight path of IAH and didn't have the necessary clearance to operate.
