Flock Cameras - Pro or Against? Looks like we have a couple in Kingwood and New Caney. A ton in Humble and Atascocita...see map. These cameras capture and analyze images of all passing vehicles, storing details like your car's location, date, and time. They also capture your car's make, model, color, and identifying features.

I dunno....Here's an old news clip I saved from six years ago....Can't remember if I posted about it or not....But the "principle" applies here too I believe:

Against, if they were exclusively for police use in investigation I wouldnt have a major issue but that data gets sold to private companies and individuals too with little to no defense against misuse

I have nothing to hide and I think they are beneficial for catching criminals and or finding lost individuals.

That's cool. What if they also sell your data to entities other than law enforcement? Better yet, what if they don't sell it and just leave it so anyone can use it, including the criminal element?

I have never heard of these. It doesn't bother me at all. There are times when it would be very useful--locating a missing person, solving a crime, tracking down a criminal.

There are pros and cons to them. If your data is sold that is a very negative thing.
My son had his car stolen while out of town. It was recovered and repaired. The next day he left our house and around the corner he was pulled over for possession of a stolen vehicle. I went and explained everything and one look at his license and plate should have been a clue. Police said the ran his plate on NP near the front. They had been watching him since then and waiting for him to get in his vehicle to get him. Glad they are watching but my lord they should do their home work.
these cameras have helped in criminal cases, and missing persons more than you can imagine. Yes, they are not perfect, but if they do make a mistake and someone gets interviewed by LEO, and are not involved, they are cleared quickly. Not sure if a UK website has the most definitive info on the cameras.
