baby deer wandered onto my carport this morning.

Ruger5 : So cute and also so nice that some places we live in are still surrounded by nature and serenity... unfortunately this fast rate of chopping down trees getting rid of beautiful wooded acres does not help the people or the environment, everything is being thrown out of balance....sad.

We watched Hoppers on Disney last night. A cute movie about nature, Urban spread and the animals fighting back.

It could be that mama left the fawn there. This has happened several times to us in recent years. The mama leaves the fawn, the fawn "typically " stays put unless they are frightened enough to force them to move. Last week I watched as mama and baby walked across our lawn at 2am. The fawn bedded down in our Agapanthus and mom left. By morning the fawn was gone.

In what village/area do you live? I'm sad when I think about how we have encroached on the territory of these animals.

Brother and SIL live in New Ballwin, MO, west of St Louis. They have deer in their backyard in the spring.......yes fawns born there..........and yes, they come back home every spring.

we see deer almost daily, raccoons nightly usually taking a dip in the pool. 🤬 our backyard is an airport for flyover birds….. mostly Cardinals, but all sorts.

Mom goes out to eat and comes back later.
I usually pick them up and move them
Out of harms way.
Mom will track them down.
This is normal behavior
