Gimme a break. I ain't a huge fan of these takeovers, but kids who attend are hardly being "groomed for organized crime".

StinksMcNulty : My friends and I "took over" the mall every weekend growing up. On Friday and Saturday nights, basically half the kids from every Humble ISD high schools got dropped off by their parents with $20 and a dream to spend a few hours hanging out with friends. This doesn't seem any different.

Heathur : We did the same back in the 80s. There were hundreds of kids at the mall on Friday night. Yes, some did rotten things but there are always those kids. I say let them have their fun.

sweetie : No.....that sounds pretty standard. CMS had a litteral fight club right behind the school that you either avoid or got your *** kicked. Teenagers fight, steal and get drunk always have, we just used to call it kids being kids when cheerleaders were robbing stores.

Right on! There is a huge difference in current day takeovers and years ago when kids met, ate, movies, etc. The element of crime was minimal.

We didn't go to the mall. We had giant house party's.

sweetie : It becomes a "social media " event. As long as you are front and center in the video. That's the difference with what is happening today. Consequences may result in a felony, but hey, you are now a star.

GiggleMugs : The goal? If you post the notification of the event, you may get a couple points. If you partake in the event, you may be a tik tok star with a felony record. Now THAT is a claim to fame.

Luv2eatsushi : Oh absolutely. They just want the video to post online. And they don't care who gets hurt or stabbed or shot or what gets stolen as long as they get their 10 minutes of fame on the Internet.
