Our house is desperately needs new siding-it's literally falling
Our house is desperately needs new siding-it's literally falling apart. We live in Sand Creek, and since the house was built in the 80s, the siding has turned into soft cardboard. To make things worse, roof rats chewed a hole through the one side of the house and exposed pipes. My husband patched it, so none of the rats got into our attic. Our camera's caught a rat lounging by our pool at 3am, like he was sunbathing.

Chrysanthemum : Have you decided what you are having the siding replaced with? I think Hardy Plank is the best at this point. Good luck with the project!
TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Yes we are going with Hardy Plank, it now comes pre-painted so that is one less step. We are thinking around $15,000. So ready to sell and move into a smaller one story home.

Chrysanthemum : It's nice it will already be painted. Ours has wood on part of the upstairs area. Hubby has replaced boards through the years but we should have hardy put up soon.

Chrysanthemum : We used Sam & Son Roofing (general contractor) to replace all siding, fascia boards, etc. They power washed the house then painted the house. Did a great job. I would call them for a quote. He's super honest.

Chrysanthemum : I wish they would have offered that painted Hardy Plank when we had ours replaced in 2010.
