HCAD I-File

I got mine lowered by 35k!! I was so happy. Not sure which part you were searching for. But I do mine every year, its in the same place online 😀

Txbutterfly : That is impressive! Yesterday I tried to I-file but the system was not working. Today I had to keep refreshing and one property took about an hour to I-file. I hope I get great results like you did! We have done ours every year for about 5 years. They always take a little off. I am hoping it will be a lot this year. House sales are down in our area. We have never used a company to do this and have always wondered if they could do better. LOL, I probably will never know!

Txbutterfly : I could not look at my property on the site and could not see nearby addresses. But, I finally could log into I-file.

I didn't know you could still file, I thought the deadline was the 15th- last Friday.

CatalinaD : When you got your notice of value the date you must file by is on the white paperwork. Our date is listed as 5/18/2026 The paperwork says:Protest deadline: May 18, 2026, or 30 days after the date this letter was mailed, whichever is later. If you want to file you should check it out!

Used ownwell last year. Already had an offer to lower it. Ownwell negated the offer and we lost $3000 reduction. Was def not worth it.
