They've reallocated most of the flood funding, that was voted on by the citizens, to other projects and certain districts have received a disproportionate amount of funding. You can thank our democratic run city council.

#msg5920831COH is using stormwater money from the federal government to demolish blighted properties because they are an eyesore and dangerous. That's not what that money was for. It's to prevent flooding like we've had. Now they're saying they may have to return some of the money back to the fed gov for doing this. Whitmire approved this. Whitmere said that it's OK because some of these dilapidated houses are in flood zones. OK well that really isn't helping to prevent flooding. Ugh

sweetie : I thought he was doing well when he re-configured the COH water dept 2 years ago and we had a small reprieve from this high bills. I had to drain and refill my pool and was thankful that the pool situation occured under the repreive. Now....we pay.

sweetie : I don't think it's money from the Feds. According to this, it's all local money?

MissAmericanPie : When they were talking about it earlier, they said it's federal money and that if the government decides that this wasn't what it was meant for they would then have to pay it back. So I hope that reporter was wrong and and that your article is right.

MissAmericanPie : I just looked it up. You're right it does not come from the federal government. I hope they correct that on the news. So I'm going to lock and delete this thread . Thank you
