#msg5914027Kingwood Post Office Yesterday, went inside at 12 noon to buy some stamps. There was a long line and only ONE clerk! They should have had more clerks for the noon/lunch time. And the machine there that sales stamps was out of stamps. Poorly managed place!

Genesis :
I've had a pretty decent time with the KW post office since I've moved fifty miles away from it.

#msg5914048I was at the Post Office today around 1:30. Very long line needing assistance including me. A family came in for their 2pm Passport Appointment. They were 15 minutes early. The kids (approx ages 8 & 13) of course, got bored. They were just casually walking around & started reading the greeting cards. They were careful and put the cards back in the slot they took them from. All of a sudden the male PO Clerk started yelling at them! Then Dad tried to apologize & called his kids back over. That wasn't good enough for the Clerk. He continue to reprimand the Dad, on & on. The Mom tried to tell the Clerk "the kids were corrected and are now in line so things are ok". Well OMG! The Clerk said he "wasn't talking to no woman. This conversation is between THE MEN so cool it". I was very impressed with the customer in front of the Clerk. She was very patient thru the Clerk's tirade. When she prepared to leave, she told the Clerk "You are a very rude person" . I was the only one that clapped for her. Apparently the PO Boss happened to be standing in the doorway. She saw and heard it all. The clerk was told to close his window. She escorted him out. Boy I really wanted to be a fly on the wall for that conversation. 15 minutes went by while I waited for my turn. I didn't see the Clerk come back. Finally something was done (or appeared to be done) about one of the employee in there.

NeenaC0629 : I would have gone home, called and ask to speak to a manager.

Don't forget y'all, there is Postal Annex on NP that may assist with some of your needs. Much easier to deal with.

Genesis :
This week I went inside to place letters in mail pick up slot. I observed a vehicle on residential street at a home maibox, not certain if placing business propaganda on mailbox. Mail gets mailed inside P.O. now. At the P.O. a lady at stand alone was going to mail her pre labeled packages. No receipt paper in the kiosk. This occurred after P.O. was closed. Nice to place mail inside drop off after closing hours for a senior.

#msg5914181Genesis : Our PO used to be very nice. The local Boy Scout Troops maintained the lawn and it was so nice. I don't know why the Boy Scouts do not maintain the PO any more but is was great when they did. We used to have nice people working there too. I would say it has gone down hill over the last 12 to 15 years. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Try the Porter PO or Mail and More on Woodland Hills Drive. My DD had to have a package shipped and Mail and More did a wonderful job packing it up for her.

TEXASGIRLMAMMA : I agree it used to be very nice.

I've heard that the Post Office stopped the Boy Scouts and the Kingwood Gardening Club from doing the landscaping. I know neither charged the Post Office. It's a mystery to me why they would stop them.

I think the HOA should send a letter to the Post Office. It looks terrible outside and the building is not kept up very well either.

I'm guessing the clerk may have been the one that usually sits on the very left counter. I've seen him step out of line frequently.

NeenaC0629 : Wow!!! Just wow!!!
The nerve of a woman entering into a man's conversation….

Kidding aside that guy (Postal worker) should have been walked off the premises….maybe pulling him by his ear.

Inexcusable.

PlaneCrazy : It seems the more the COH took hold the worse the PO grounds got. After all, we are just Houston! Same with the streets and the gutters that now have stuff that is left so long weeds have started growing in them.

#msg5914530TEXASGIRLMAMMA : Do not forget all the foods wrappers they throw against the fence where they park their trucks. They must think it is OK because there is so much.

UptownGirl : That is shameful for them to do that!

The continued growth in the obsolescence of the United States Postal Service is one of the better developments of 21st Century. Unfortunately its' ability to flush increasing amounts amounts of capital down the drain is an ongoing testament to the powers of political patronage.
