Kingwood's First Church Welcomes the Community for Eggs-traordinary Easter Worship, Egg Hunt & Outreach - Kingwood

Hop on into Holy Comforter Lutheran Church this Easter Sunday, April 9th, 2023. Kingwood's First Church will have Festival Worship Services at 8:15 & 11 a.m. with Brass, Timpani, Bells and Choirs. Between services, there will be children's activities, including an Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. for the community, sponsored by Kingwood.com.

Holy Comforter's community Easter Egg Hunt really took off during 2021 and 2022, when the community, who had been quarantining for COVID for over a year, was invited to this socially distanced, outdoor children's event. Dozens of people, outside of the congregation joined in on the Egg Hunting fun and some stayed for worship! The Egg Hunt and children's activities are open to children in Humble, Kingwood and surrounding areas from Pre-K through fifth grade. Thanks to Holy Comforter's generous congregation, over 1,000 eggs are expected this year. This family fun event includes a traditional hunt for school age children and an "Egg Drop" for the younger kids. There will also be Pastor's Story time and prizes in the sanctuary. Older children and teens who would like service hours are invited to help hide the eggs before the hunt and will also get to collect any eggs not found after the event. HCLC youth will serve Breakfast Tacos all day on Easter Sunday. Proceeds go toward their summer mission trip.

Easter is the perfect time to hear the Good News! As God's people, it is our privilege to share the unique message of God's unconditional love and grace given through Jesus Christ.  At Easter and every Sunday during worship, we remember when Jesus conquered death. As Christians, the fundamental belief is that God has won, Jesus has risen. He lives and calls US to live differently.

Holy Comforter Lutheran Church and School in Kingwood, Texas, is a faith community committed to sharing the Good News with ALL of God's children, and we mean ALL! We believe in changing lives one person at a time.  We call it -- GOING DEEPER -- deeper in worship, deeper in learning, and deeper in serving.  This deeper discipleship leads us to strive for justice and peace in the world. Come be a part of this incredible journey. Go Deeper with Christ! Discover Your Faith through prayer and worship, Grow in Community though Bible study, fellowship and encouraging spiritual growth in others and Live God's Mission by serving the community through our hunger, homeless, disaster recovery, health, education, and youth leadership development ministries. Discover. Grow. Live. That is the pathway for deeper discipleship.

Individually packed, non-chocolate candy, small toys and trinkets, and "Jumbo" plastic egg donations are being accepted in the narthex at HCLC through April 5th when we will have a stuffing service project during WoW Night - Worship, Word & Witness following dinner at 6 p.m. All are welcome! There is an Amazon wish list available if you'd like to help with this project. https://www.godeeperwithchrist.org/easter.
