We sat down this week with Sloan Rinaldi, owner and Pitmaster at Texas Q - Craft BBQ, to learn more about her mouth-watering barbecue and sauces, and the opening of her new food truck location on August 5th in Kingwood.

Tell us a bit about your business:  What does your business offer, and how long have you been around? Texas Q creates succulent melt-in-your mouth BBQ, founded by a 4th generation Pitmaster. We craft memorable BBQ as well as southern scratch made sides and decadent desserts using only premium ingredients, USDA prime beef, all natural pork and poultry.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
As a 4th generation Pitmaster it was in my blood to smoke BBQ. Texas Q originated from a light bulb moment. With a driving desire to make a place for women in BBQ we launched in 2013.

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition? Building on the success of our craft BBQ, I created an award winning line of BBQ sauces. In 2015 HEB asked to put our sauces on their shelves. In 2018 Food Network selected me for "Chopped" to represent Texas in their Grill Masters Tournament.  

What is your favorite part of running this business? Creating a memorable culinary experience that is uniquely Texas.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best? Anyone and Everyone that enjoys BBQ.

Can you tell us something about yourself as the business owner? What is your background? I’m a 4th generation Pitmaster and entrepreneur. I follow my passions.

Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?
10% off any bottle of sauce purchased at the Food Trailer and 5% off all catering events with the mention of this article.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business? We are available for catering events large and small, both public and private.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years? We see ourselves selling Texas Q BBQ Sauces internationally and opening another food trailer to better serve the Metro Houston area. We expect to be included in Texas Monthly’s list of the Top 50 BBQ Joints in Texas and we intend to be in the Top 10.
