As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week we sat down with Patricia, director of Kingwood Memory Assisted Living.
Located in a quiet, residential area of Kingwood, we provide safe, secure and one-on-one well taken care of memory care and assisted living services in a small-scale home-like atmosphere.
Officially opening about a month ago, this tranquil family-owned facility has been addressing stringent state facility requirements for the past four years and is now ready to welcome residents to their new home for compassionate and individualized care that meets the highest standards. How did you decide to get involved in this line of work?
I've been a LVN for over 27 years and love providing one-on-one care to our residents. I've provided Memory Care Services for over 37 years, starting as a caregiver. I have a broad knowledge and experience in caring for residents with Memory Disorder.

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for?
The family that owns our facility has a passion for service. I'm proud that they had the tenacity to complete this facility after so many years of challenges with sprinklers and other construction codes. Now, loved ones of those we care for have the utmost peace of mind about the care we provide within our special residential setting.
What is your favorite part of running this business?
I absolutely love providing relief for families, offering their loved ones the best care and exact assistance that they need with compassion.
Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Anyone with a memory disorder, regardless of the stage of their disorder, is our ideal patient.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
We do offer short-term placement for loved ones so that caretakers can take a vacation or get a much-needed break to recharge.
With 24 hour staffing, our patient's needs are met by our caring staff who are specifically trained in memory disorders. A memory care specialist nurse is onsite for 8 hours each day. We also offer daily activities for our patients.
Our unit is secure with 24 hour a day recording and monitoring. We have also secured our commercial kitchen so that it remains closed to our patients. We also have a full service generator to run our entire facility in the event of a power outage.
Those who mention this article can receive a semi-private room for $4,000 (a $4,700 value) and a private room for $5,000 (a $5,600 value). We also offer helpful articles about memory care and assisted living along with promotions on our website.
