Creativity Shell Launches Community Light Project – We’re Gonna let it Shine!

Nonprofit organization, the Creativity Shell is launching a community light/craft project for Kingwood, Humble and Atascocita kids called “We’re Gonna Let It Shine!”

The Creativity Shell is a nonprofit organization on a mission to use creative trades to educate and inspire the next generation of makers. The organization teaches sewing/textile arts and other trades classes to students in their private studios, libraries, schools and shelters that rescue children from homelessness, trauma and human trafficking. Their classes are designed to educate and inspire children by teaching them essential life and practical skills.

The “We’re Gonna Let It Shine” project will give children the opportunity to sew an outfit on a solar light to create a snowman/woman. Finished solar lights will be displayed along the center grass median at the front of Kingwood Drive as well as the center grass median on select streets such as Willow Terrace Drive, Woodlands Hills and more from December 9th– January 4th for the community to see.

Solar snowman sewing kits are $12 and can be purchased on-line at https://www.creativityshell.org/product/gonna-let-shine-snowman/. Kits can be picked up and sewn at home or they can be sewn at the Creativity Shell’s first annual Community Crafternoon on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 1 pm – 5 pm at the Creativity Shell Studio at 1570 Kingwood Drive.

Funds raised from this community project will be used to support the organizations sewing/textile arts programs for kids in local shelters that rescue children from homelessness, trauma and human trafficking.
