As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week we sat down with Dan DiGregorio, owner of the PostalAnnex location in Kingwood.Tell us a bit about your business: What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
We opened our Postal Annex Franchise location 5 years ago with a tag line, "Your Home Office.” Helping small and home-based businesses, as well as offering full retail services for everyone, we are focused on meeting all of our clients’ shipping needs. We pack, compare prices and delivery times for local and international shipments, and offer the best price / service to meet their needs. We are not a one carrier service; instead, we offer access to FedEx, UPS, USPS and DHL.How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
It was a natural progression for me to open this franchise … after spending 35 years in corporate IT, with 25 years in the airfreight industry managing the development of airfreight software.
Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
My wife and I are proud to be Kingwood residents for over 20 years and my team and I are proud to be that neighborly place to go in Kingwood for the best service and convenience … where you see a familiar face who knows each customer by name. There are many places for a customer to go to have their print or shipping needs met; however, we strive to offer the best experience.What is your favorite part of running this business?
We enjoy giving back to the community, working closely with many of the Humble schools in our neighborhood. Partnering with the PTA council, we sponsor many events and have donated hundreds of print materials and services. Since my wife and oldest daughter are teachers in Humble ISD, I prefer to focus my community efforts on education support. Through BNI Business Voices, I continue to encourage other local businesses to support the Humble ISD Education Foundation.
With my corporate experience of working with budgets and deadlines, I also enjoy helping my customers get their business needs solved.Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal customers/clients are those who want the best printing and shipping services possible. Every day, we print and ship for customers wherever they are and wherever they need to go. If they have a project that needs to get done, we focus on providing the exact services that they need.Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?
We offer an automated loyalty program that emails coupons when a customer reaches $100 on qualifying purchases. To enroll in the program, all we need is the customer’s email address.
Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
Customers are always surprised at the number of services that we offer. If you don’t know what we can do for you, just ask. We usually have the resources to get it done or we can refer you to a qualified business that can.
Plus, many people don’t know that we offer a business address for anyone who needs a physical address or wants a more secure place to receive packages or mail. People also don’t know that we provide print and copy services, including business cards, brochures, banners and materials for a direct mail campaign… all at a very competitive price.
How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
We will always provide customer service at a fair price. We look to expand our products and services to meet the needs of all of Kingwood.
