It’s been one year since Kingwood Branch Public Library embraced the Creativity Shell and we are happy to announce that additional Houston Libraries are following the stitch. In January 2017, the Creativity Shell will offer 10 sewing/textile arts classes at 5 Houston Libraries (Kingwood Branch, Baldwin Boettcher Branch, Hillendahl Library, Ring Library and Freeman Public Library). Each library will offer 12-week sewing classes for students in Grade 3 – 5 (Junior Class) and grade 6 – 12 (Teens).

Kingwood Sewing/Textile Arts Library Schedule:

Wednesday:
Kingwood Library (4:00 – 5:00 Jr.)
Kingwood Library (5:00 – 6:00 Teens.)
Kingwood Contact: Lauren.Richards@hcpl.net or 281-368-6804

Registration for library classes begins on January 3, 2017 at the libraries (not at the Creativity Shell). Students in this class will also be preparing for the Creativity Shell’s annual fashion show, Creativity Rocks on Saturday, April 29, 2017 @ 6 pm!

Sewing/textile arts programs in selected public libraries are offered free of charge to students.  Parents/students will need to purchase a materials package from the Creativity Shell for $25 for students to use in the class for the entire 12-week semester. (Please do not purchase your materials package until registration has been confirmed by the library.  Space in this class is limited to 12 students for the junior class and 12 for the teen’s class. Parents are encouraged to ONLY register their child if they can commit to the 12-week sewing program AND to their child being in the fashion show.
