Interview with Joe Schiller of Schiller Air Conditioning - Kingwood

As part of our ongoing "Getting to Know Your Local Businesses" series, this week Kingwood.com sits down with Joe Schiller of Schiller Air Conditioning.

Tell us a bit about your business. What does your business offer, and how long have you been around?
We are a family owned and operated air conditioning & heating company. We offer quality products and services to all of our customer and I have been providing services since 1975 and started our company in 1988.

How did you decide to get involved in this line of work? How did the business get started?
I decided to join my family and friends that were already in the air conditioning business. I also decided to start my own company so I would have something to pass down to my children and generations thereafter. 

Tell us a couple things you are proud of about your business. What are you known for? What separates you from the competition?
We are family owned and operated and pride ourselves on putting the customer first. Our company takes pride in servicing the customer as soon as possible. We are known for providing quality service to each and every customer.

What is your favorite part of running this business?
Getting to know each and every one of our customers on a one-on-one basis.

Who is your ideal customer/client? Who do you serve best?
Our ideal customer would be someone that I provide services for and they're happy with the quality of work we provide and become a lifelong customer.

Can you tell us something about yourself as the business owner? What is your background?
I started in the HVAC business during the summers in high school for a company called I&S. In 1985 I ventured out to create a partnership, a company named R&S Air Conditioning. I quickly realized that the company wasn't going in the right direction, so in May of 1988 I created Schiller Air Conditioning Co., Inc. I started the company with a vision that one day it would be family owned and operated, and that the company would always put the customer first.

Are there any special promotions, annual sales, or special events that you'd like to mention?
We offer a Senior Citizen discount as well as a Veteran discount.

Is there any other information you'd like your potential customers/clients to know about your business?
We will always try to provide our services on the same day if possible. We are a Factory Authorized Carrier Dealer and all of our technicians are NATE Certified and go through rigorous training throughout the year.

How do you see your business growing and improving over the next couple of years?
Since my children have joined the company, I see our company growing day by day. I also see our company improving and providing our customers even more efficiently as we grow.
