Jennifer and Cesar Coronel, Owners of JC Sports Houston had a very exciting and busy February. Both of them had the opportunity to travel to Haiti and provide sports equipment and a physical education program to a remote school in the mountains of Haiti.
Harvest8 Sports Group Inc., also known as "The Kingdom Soccer Project," a new 501c3 Nonprofit founded by Cesar Coronel, achieved this important goal with the support of JC Sports Houston and the residents of the HKA area.
"We had a great opportunity to bless over 200 kids in the village of Ropissa in Haiti," mentioned Cesar Coronel. "By partnering with Acts 29 Missions, a non profit organization that runs the school, we were able to plan a trip there and provide the following:
100 Soccer Balls
Soccer Goals
Soccer Jerseys
Medals
Mighty Kicks Life Skills Soccer Curriculum (translated into Haitian Creole- the local language in Haiti)
Trained staff of 8 administrators and teachers."
"Since the moment we got in contact with Acts 29 Missions, we knew we wanted to work with them. Their beliefs about empowering children instead of giving handouts goes hand in hand with our philosophy and culture of training children in sports in order to enjoy a healthy life style and to play and have fun," Cesar added.
"I get so happy when I receive notifications from the school via FB now and I can see the kids training at the school with our equipment and following a lesson plan provided by Mighty Kicks. We want to thank our community for their support. People in the HKA provided not only financial support, some of our local neighbors brought us suitcases to take to Haiti with all the equipment that we needed to transport, and most importantly prayer. We are so grateful for everybody who supported us," Cesar said.
As for the Kingdom Soccer next project there are several Cesar shared with us:
On Memorial Day weekend JC Sports Houston and Harvest8 Sports Group will be hosting an event to collect sports equipment for local schools in the Humble area.
July 2016 Harvest8 Sports Group will be heading to Kenya, Africa. There is a remote school with close to 200 children that we would also like to bless with equipment, tools, training, and curriculum.
February 2017 we will be back to Ropissa Haiti. We would like to take the children on a field trip from the mountains of Haiti to an olympic training soccer field in Port Au Prince the capital of Haiti to host a soccer tournament with the children.
