MW Cleaners is once again working to make the dreams of young women come true. For the second year in a row, the Kingwood-area business with the community-giving heart has partnered with The Giving Gown Foundation and its upcoming Boutique Days on April 7-9. At the three-day event, prom dresses will be provided to area high school girls who would otherwise be unable to attend their formal events. Each girl will be greeted with a personal shopper and be able to choose a prom gown, shoes and accessories, have on site alterations, attend a self-esteem seminar, have a boutique lunch, and receive a swag bag of hygiene and beauty products. All of this is free of charge to the girls.

"We encourage any young ladies wanting to partake in this wonderful program to sign up now," said MW Cleaners president Mike Nesbit. "Due to the demand, the foundation must unfortunately limit registration to the first 1,500 girls, and last year those spaces filled up quickly." Nesbit also announced that the second annual MW Cleaners Prom Dress Drive Benefiting The Giving Gown Foundation would launch soon. "We take prom gown donations all year round, but in early March we'll be hosting our campaign to get hundreds of gowns donated, where we will also clean them, free of charge, for the Boutique Days."

Cassie Miller, director of operations for The Giving Gown Foundation, is seeking volunteers. "We're looking for kind, compassionate women ages 21 and above to serve princesses in our boutique," she said. "Whether you choose to be a Fairy Godmother, a Seamstress, or serve in the Caf", we want our princesses to be surrounded by grace and love. Our mission is to boost their self-esteem and teach them that they are valuable and beautiful just as they are."

More than 1,300 girls attended last year's Boutique Day, nearly double from the year before. Due to the sheer number of girls who benefit from its services, The Giving Gown Foundation is constantly seeking donations, and is in particular need of new and gently used shoes. For information on how to volunteer or donate, contact 713-304-7225. If you are a young lady wishing to receive a gown, accessories and special treatment at the Boutique Days, log on to www.givinggown.org.
