MW Cleaners Announces the “MW Cares Toy Drive for Angels” – Happening Now! - Kingwood

Employees at MW Cleaners' 30 Houston-area locations have adopted "angels" in the hopes of letting hundreds of children receive presents under their tree, and are calling on area residents to join in!

MW Cleaners, which has been making a name for itself as a community-driven business that daily works to give back to each neighborhood within its reach, is at it again – helping those in need. All year long, the staff of the popular dry cleaning business, led by company president Mike Nesbit, have been pouring themselves out for the community, assisting charities and using their resources to make a difference in peoples’ lives. This holiday season is no different. Determined to end the year with giving in their hearts, they have created 2015 MW Cares Toy Drive for Angels, benefiting the Houston Salvation Army's Angel Tree Program.

Last year, MW Cleaners participated in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program, where staff members and generous customers collected more than 1,000 toys. This year, MW Cleaners decided to extend their reach by having their staff adopt 100 “angels” – representing children in need of Christmas presents – while simultaneously encouraging Houston-area residents to participate in the toy drive in hopes that well over last year’s count can be donated.

The MW Cares Toy Drive program works like this: customers can pick up “angel” ornaments with toy suggestions off the tree in any of the 37 area MW Cleaners locations. The angels have the age-appropriate toy suggestions, based on the highest-selling toys this season. Once the customer has selected a suggested gift, they can bring the new, unwrapped toy to any of the MW Cleaners locations, and the team there will take care of the rest. The drive will last through November 28. On December 3, the MW Cleaners team will host a special presentation morning, where they will drop off all the gifts at the Houston Salvation Army. The team will cook breakfast as a thank you to all the volunteers, the Salvation Army, and the Harbor Light Choir, the Salvation Army’s renowned musical group that will also be providing holiday cheer for the event.

While all donations are gratefully accepted, Nesbit points out that it is the older children, ages 8-11, that are the most in need of gifts. This suggested toy list is also posted on the cleaner’s Facebook page:
