MW Cleaners Launches Its Inaugural Coat and Blanket Drive - Kingwood

From now through the end of October, MW Cleaners will be accepting new or gently used blankets and winter coats.

With temperatures dropping into those crisp fall mornings, many Houstonians are dusting off those winter jackets and taking stock of their cold weather wardrobes. Others are simply worried. The average cost of an all-winter coat is about $60, which can be just out of reach for some.

This is why Mike Nesbit of MW Cleaners launched the first annual MW Cares Coat and Blanket Drive. From now through the end of October, MW Cleaners will be accepting new or gently used blankets and winter coats.

“We want to extend warmth and a helping hand to those in need,” Nesbit said. “They are such simple things that most of us don’t even notice last year’s coat, or extra blankets taking up room in the closet. But these can make a difference in someone’s life. We want to use our resources to make that happen.”

Donations can be dropped off at the counter of all MW Cleaners Houston locations. These will be cleaned, free of charge. In early November, they will donated to those in need through the Salvation Army.
