The Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-Northeast is hosting free community screenings for prostate, skin and breast cancer.

An estimated 34,000 Texans will be diagnosed with a new case of prostate, skin or breast cancer in 2015, according the American Cancer Society (ACS). The ACS also estimates that the three cancers will combine to claim more than 200,000 lives nationwide this year.
Screening for cancer before symptoms are shown in the body and undergoing screening tests regularly may detect certain cancers early, when effective treatment is most likely, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Located just east of George Bush Intercontinental Airport, at 18960 North Memorial Drive off Highway 59, Memorial Hermann Northeast Hospital is home to the longest-accredited cancer center in Houston outside of the Texas Medical Center and is accredited as a Community Hospital Comprehensive Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
Participants are asked to register for the free community cancer screening by calling 713-222-CARE (2273).
