The Kingwood Women’s Club, a 501(c)(3) organization, is proud to announce that it is celebrating its 30th year!  Charter member Diana Hertzenberg explains that it all started on a February evening in 1985, when 8-10 ladies met at a neighbor’s home in Bear Branch to throw around the idea of forming a women’s club in Kingwood that would allow them to give back to the community as well as provide social interaction. As word spread through the community about the organization, the numbers increased until by 1991 KWC had 100 members and had to look for places to meet.  The first project was to decorate a Sesquicentennial Christmas tree at the New Home Finding Center that was in the very front of Kingwood. As the years went by KWC added other projects and now members volunteer at more than 10 local charities and organizations.

KWC, which now has over 130 active members, has exceeded its original goal and has been able to add generous donations to local organizations as part of its community service.  The charter members never imagined that over the years, KWC would donate a total of $919,910 to organizations in the Kingwood and Humble area from funds raised at our annual Holiday Marketplace Event.

The Nineteenth Annual Holiday Marketplace will kick off with a Preview Party at the Humble Civic Center, located at 8233 Will Clayton Parkway, on Monday evening, October 26, 2015 from 6 to 9 p.m.  Guests will enjoy wine and refreshments while getting the first look at our shopping extravaganza.  You will find something you love with over 90 booths of jewelry, clothing, florals, specialty gift and baby items and much, much more. The highlight of the evening will be a fabulous Silent Auction which will include trips to some of your favorite places.  There will also be wonderful raffle items and door prizes. Find a complete list of vendors and all the details on our website, www.kingwoodwomensclub.com. Tickets for this event are available in advance only for $25 per person which will include free General Admission on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. Proceeds from Preview Party ticket sales benefit Project Mammogram.
