Registration for the 6th Annual Lake Houston 10K 5K presented by Memorial Hermann Northeast and Texas Emergency Care Center is underway. Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting the sanctioned race at 7 am, Saturday, August 22 at Kings Harbor on Lake Houston.
Last year's event proved successful with nearly 950 runners from across the state and country, some from as far away as Chicago. This year the Chamber is preparing for more than 1,000 participants. The course begins and ends at King's Harbor in Kingwood, is mostly shaded and boasts picturesque views of Lake Houston and the Kingwood area.
“The Lake Houston 10k 5k is a premier health and wellness event for the Lake Houston Area,” said Heath Rushing, CEO of Memorial Hermann Northeast and 2015 Co-Race Director. “It is an honor to serve alongside my good friend, Corey Turner. Together we will work to make sure the race continues to grow, draw more local residents and attract runners from across the country. The support of the Lake Houston Area community has been tremendous and we look forward to setting a new record this year!”
Online registration is available at www.lakehouston10k5k.com. Race participants are guaranteed an official Dri-FIT race T-shirt and runner’s bag if they register by Tuesday, July 14.
