INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED CARTOONIST, LEROY BROWN, SIGNING BOOKS AT DNA COMICS ON SATURDAY.

Young artists, bring your cartooning portfolio for Leroy to review.

This Saturday, May 2, internationally acclaimed cartoonist and Houston’s very own, Leroy Brown, will be at DNA Comics to celebrate Free Comic Book Day. Leroy will be signing copies of his own massively successful release, ICECUBES, ‘Noise is News’, as well as early proofs of his brand new comic book, ‘The i’s Have it’. A limited number of both will be on sale onsite, on the day. In addition, Leroy will be available to review young artists’ cartooning portfolios.

Can You Tell Me More About Leroy’s Comics?
Leroy Brown is creator and author of ICECUBES the comic strip, the internationally distributed slice of life strip that’s been getting rave reviews from a skyrocketing fan base. Located somewhere between Calvin and Hobbes, Krazy Kat and Pogo, ICECUBES is the tale of a motley crew of misfits, led by Peckinpaw, a lovable polar bear, supported and antagonized (!) by Freeze the feisty penguin, Eggman the mellow Walrus (koo-koo-ka-choo!) and Nooky the Inupiaq entrepreneur.

The hilarious hijinks are hand-drawn with real ink on paper in the style of the traditional masters of the art form. Though classically trained in the skills of cartooning in New York and Paris, Leroy now proudly calls Houston home. He’s been featured in publications from Wizard World, to the Houston Chronicle.
