Road Closure Information for 2014 Lake Houston 10k/5k at Kings Harbor - Kingwood

During the race, the northbound lanes of West Lake Houston Parkway from Kings Parkway to Kings Crossing will be closed from around 6:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., and the southbound lanes will be turned into two lanes. There will be officers at all intersections to help with traffic flow.
The run begins from Magnolia Cove Drive parking lot, proceeds south on West Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes), u-turns north of Kings Parkway and continues north on West Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes), u-turns just south of Kings Crossing Drive and continues south on West Lake Houston Parkway (northbound lanes) and concludes in the Magnolia Cove Drive parking lot.
This fifth annual event has been planned by the Chamber to feature the Lake Houston Area as a center for health and wellness activities, as well as business growth. In addition, this event promotes the attributes of the Lake Houston Area to the entire Greater Houston region. Last year’s event proved successful with nearly 950 across the state and country. This year the Chamber is preparing for more than 1,100 participants.
The 10k run and 5k run/walk will begin at 7:15 a.m. Saturday morning and will conclude with an awards ceremony.
