“We want to create an event that will be fun for the entire community,” said Stacy Arceneaux, senior care counselor at Arbor Terrace. “As we talked about what our event might look like, a hoedown quickly became the obvious choice.”
Dubbed the “Arbor Terrace Country Hoedown,” the festivities will include a barbecue, drinks, giveaways, and, of course, line dancing. The Sowell Family Pickers, a Hempstead-based family country and bluegrass music group, will provide music and entertainment during the event. The group is comprised of six children who range in age from seven to 17 and play a variety of musical instruments alongside their parents.
“When I first heard of the group, I knew they would be a perfect addition to our hoedown,” said Arceneaux. “It always amazes me to see kids this young playing things like banjos and guitars better than most adults.”
The Arbor Terrace Country Hoedown is open to everyone and takes place Friday, June 13, 5-6:30 p.m. at Arbor Terrace at Kingwood Town Center, 2807 Kings Crossing Drive. More information is available at http://arbr.co/kingwoodhoedown or by calling (281) 361-7557.
